(very late) Cinco de Henry!

For Henry's first Cinco de Mayo/Derby Day, we spent the afternoon/evening in Decatur with our friends Melissa and Chris.  Anyways, they took some great photos and it was a super fun afternoon so I wanted to share it for those who did not see it on facebook.

We spent the morning at Jojo and Toppy's doing laundry (our dryer was on the fritz). So Henry had some morning tummy time out on the patio, followed by watching the Muppets with Dad because I wouldn't take a nap. I will say he watch the movie for a solid 30 minutes.

Here is the rest of afternoon!

Special thanks to Chris who brought the somberos! Ole!

Weekend Fun

So after a busy weekend of celebrating Auntie MayLo and David, I was looking forward to a quiet weekend at home.  While we were at home, it was anything but quiet. By the end of Saturday night, this whole family was asleep before 10 PM. Oh how one's life changes.  Anyways, here are some cute ones from this weekend.  This weekend's schedule consisted of a visit of the farmer's market at the Cathedral, a long walk around the neighborhood, dinner with friends (Cassie, VA, Kate and Jason to be specific), then the next day, we had a VERY long walk, toured open houses, went to the pool for the first time, then wrapped up the evening celebrating Jojo's birthday!

Happy first Mother's Day!/Auntie May Lo and David Get Married!

To say that last weekend was busy is an understatement! We were busy little beavers!

Henry left Atlanta for the first time and we went to the great town of Tallahassee. Henry's first adventure out of Atlanta was in celebration of Auntie May Lo (ice cream cone)'s wedding to David.  It was an amazing weekend, the whole weekend was planned to a tee and I do not believe I have ever seen Auntie May Lo so happy. See (stolen from facebook) picture below. Happy Auntie May Lo. Just gorgeous.

We had an amazing time and Henry did decently well on the whole trip.  Then again, I am pretty sure I have my mother to thank for that. So just a few days after returning from hiking in Peru, Jojo turned around and DROVE all three of us to T-town, then took Henry home early from the rehearsal dinner, then stayed with him during the wedding, and basically drove us home, so that I could be a "good" bridesmaid. Auntie May Lo, I'll be honest, I have been a more attentive bmaid before and you might have gotten the short end of the stick. I hope you know that I still love to pieces but new mommy status keeps my brain fried.  Anyways, Kyle and I had way too much fun both nights which made for a rather grumpy mother's day on my part.  So Kyle treated me and Jojo to Mother's Day lunch at Krystal. I know, it sounds rather red but we were technically on a road trip and I know for a fact that Mom loves Krystal as much as I do. Guilty Pleasure.
Don't worry, we wiped the Krystal high chair down well before Henry got strapped in. I will say it was one of the nicer Krystal's that I have been too.....

Here are a couple more photographs from the wedding.

p.s. just to note, I did receive a very sweet and beautiful gift in a blue box for Mother's Day.  Henry already has good taste in jewelry. :)

Baby Food

In my typical, I can do it all mode/mind set, I am trying to make my own, organic baby food. Headed into week two, so far this is pretty easy.  But then again, we are only up to three different foods, banana, sweet potatoes, avocado. So far that doesn't require much prep as the avocado and banana do not have to be cooked. Henry is definitely responsive to the food, well not the avocado but he does seem to enjoy bananas and sweet potatoes.

In addition to food, we are also testing out sippy cups. Henry is slightly suspect, well maybe because it is filled with water. But it is fun to watch him work on his motor skills, grasping the handles and trying to get the "nipple" in his mouth.

It is hard to believe that we are already introducing food. Before we know it, Henry will be walking and talking. Kyle and I are going to need to serious baby proof the house and start watching our language. Well mainly, Kyle is going to need to watch his potty mouth......
